You are notified that a 2-year-old boy is being brought to your ED by ambulance after being found face down and unresponsive in a backyard pool.

His father commenced CPR and ambulance officers continued resuscitation. He is now intubated and has return of spontaneous circulation.

On arrival his vital signs are: HR 70/min, RR 20/min, oxygen saturation 93% on FiO2 0.80, BP 80/40 mmHg, and temperature 32 degrees C.
