SAQ 1015 – Paediatrics – febrile toddler with widespread rash

Marked out of 16.00

A normally well 18-month-old girl is brought to ED after one week of coryzal symptoms and fever. Three days ago she developed a rash that began on the face and torso and has now spread to the arms, legs and perineum.

Her parents have been using wet dressings and topical steroid for what was thought to be a flare of her usually mild eczema. She appears coryzal and miserable. The rash images are shown.
