A 37-year-old man is brought to the ED after being found collapsed in a park. From his attire it appears he had been running. His past medical history is unknown.

On arrival he is GCS 7 (E1 V2 M4), pulse 130/min, BP 80/40 mmHg, RR 32/min, oxygen saturation 91% on room air, and temperature 40.1 C. The working diagnosis is heat stroke.
