A 52-year-old man is brought by ambulance after losing control of his motorcycle at 80 km/h and being thrown several metres onto bitumen. He wore a helmet and protective leathers. He has a mitral valve replacement and takes warfarin; his INR was 3.1 last week. He has abdominal and back pain and tenderness but is haemodynamically stable, GCS 15, and early CXR, pelvic X-ray and FAST scan show no concerning injuries.
