SAQ 1424 – Paediatric heat stroke with status epilepticus

A two-year-old child is brought to the ED after being left in a hot car.

The child has had a prolonged seizure, remains unresponsive and is still seizing. Observations are pulse 160/min, BP 80/35 mmHg, oxygen saturation 99% on 15 L/min via non-rebreather mask and temperature 41 degrees C.
