Your rural ED is notified of the impending arrival of a 29-year-old pregnant woman in labour at 36 weeks. There is no obstetric service on site.

The baby is delivered in the ambulance before arrival. The cord has been clamped and cut, the baby appears well, the mother has ongoing vaginal blood loss, and the placenta has not delivered.

The mother's vital signs are GCS 15, pulse 100/min, BP 100/50 mmHg, and oxygen saturation 99% on room air.
