Observations are HR 110/min, BP 120/75 mmHg, RR 24/min, oxygen saturation 94% and aural temperature 38.5 C. His neck and throat are swollen and tender. He has trismus, cannot protrude his tongue, and the tongue appears displaced superiorly and anteriorly.
