a. Advantages

• Documents associated fractures before reduction.
• Identifies fractures requiring operative orthopaedic management.
• Humeral-head position may guide reduction technique.

b. Disadvantages

• Low yield for significant associated injuries that alter reduction.
• Delays reduction.
• Associated fractures may be better assessed after reduction.
• Greater-tuberosity fractures often reduce with the shoulder and do not alter technique.

c. Diagnosis

• Posterior dislocation of the left glenohumeral joint.

d. Associated complication

• Reverse Hill-Sachs defect of the anteromedial humeral head.

e. Discharge considerations

• No sedation complications and adequate recovery.
• Reassess neurovascular status.
• Adequate analgesia and splinting.
• Provide rehabilitation and movement advice.
• Arrange orthopaedic and physiotherapy follow-up within one week.
• Confirm safe social circumstances and transport.
• Provide written advice and relevant documentation.
