a. Radiological findings

• Anterior dislocation of the knee.
• Small bony fragment near the distal femur or tibial spine, or a sesamoid fragment.
• Haemarthrosis.

b. Likely non-bony injuries

• Popliteal artery injury.
• Common peroneal nerve injury.
• Anterior or posterior cruciate ligament injury.
• Medial or lateral collateral ligament injury.

c. Later complications

• Compartment syndrome.
• Deep-vein thrombosis.
• Vascular graft failure.
• Infection or wound dehiscence.
• Repeat surgery or amputation.
• Persistent instability.
• Pain, stiffness, or post-traumatic arthritis.
• Psychological or social complications.
