Infective	Non-infective
Measles; group A streptococcus/scarlet fever/acute rheumatic fever.	Stevens-Johnson syndrome/TEN, drug eruption, idiopathic juvenile arthritis, malignancy, mercury hypersensitivity, or polyarteritis nodosa.
COVID/MIS-C; EBV, CMV, adenovirus, HHV-6, enterovirus, echovirus; toxic shock; staphylococcal scalded skin; leptospirosis.	Multisystem inflammatory syndrome may also be considered depending on classification.

Investigation	Reason
Echocardiogram	Assess for coronary-artery aneurysm and other cardiac complications.
Troponin	May be elevated with myocarditis.
ECG	Detects myopericarditis, PR prolongation, ST/T changes, arrhythmia, or heart block.
ESR/CRP	Raised inflammatory markers support treatment; normal serial results may support observation in incomplete disease and help monitor severity.
