SAQ 1973 – Late pregnancy with headache and abnormal blood results

A 29-year-old woman who is 35 weeks pregnant presents with headache and upper abdominal pain.

Observations are temperature 36.5 degrees C, heart rate 90/min, blood pressure 170/100, SpO2 97% on room air, respiratory rate 18/min, BSL 6.5 and GCS 15. She has no meningism and her abdomen is soft and non-tender.

Blood results show Hb 100, platelets 80, WCC 13, neutrophils 10, sodium 136, potassium 3.7, urea 12, creatinine 180, bilirubin 50, AST 130, ALT 110, ALP 120 and LDH 800.
