SAQ 1974 – Paediatric hypoglycaemia after possible tablet ingestion

Rosie is a 2-year-old child who was well earlier apart from vomiting. She is now increasingly lethargic, drowsy but rouses to voice.

Observations are temperature 37.5 degrees C, heart rate 120/min, respiratory rate 30/min, BP 90/65, SpO2 97% on room air and BSL 2.1.

Her sister later says Rosie picked a tablet up from the floor.
